From Rec to Tech divers – your help is needed locating and reporting
Invasive Tunicates in Washington State!

Free Training Tuesday April 24th
Seattle Aquarium, 7pm

Local Marine life Instructor Janna Nichols (REEF and Washington Scuba Alliance) leads the workshop. You will learn how to identify three invasive species underwater, and what to do if you find any on your dives.

· Seattle Aquarium upstairs classroom
· Free and even fun!
· Workshop lasts a little over an hour
· All divers (and non-divers) welcome!

Invasive tunicates:
· Reproduce quickly
· Have no local predators
· Take over dive sites
· Crowd out Washington's native species
· Foul docks, boats, propellers and aquaculture equipment

GOOD! Just this afternoon I received a number of phone calls and letters from folks I've never heard of signing up for the workshop. I think the news is making its way around the community.
