Doctors with diving knowledge

Post by Rob Holman »

Hello, I have a buddy who is trying to get back into diving. She has some ear issues (pain while trying to clear, etc), and wants to know if anyone out there knows of a good doctor who specializes in SCUBA topics.

Anyone out there have any advice?

The ENT group at Minor and James Medical on First Hill is quite good. This is the ear guy:

Ed Kay is pretty much a general internist. He has developed a SCUBA specific practice, but there are plenty of other high quality ENTs around as well.

You can call DAN, and they can give you a list, but they typically recommend Dr Kay.

Rawlings has the Tacoma guy who sounds like a class act. I'd also check into VM's hyperbaric medicine folks - they could probably make a recommendation.

His name is Dr. Seth John Stankus....he is a tech-diving neurologist specializing in dive injuries.

He is at Tacoma Group Health.
