Today, I got to do something I didn't think I would ever do.
I got to be part of an "exploration" dive in a cave here in Mexico. Yes, people had been in this cave before, but nobody in about 7 years, and the former line was largely gone or present only in huge, broken, knotted masses.
My buddy was running the line, but the two of us made it past the former EOL, and put in about another 150 feet or so of line before we walled the passage out in backmount. And it's MY arrow sitting on the end of the line. MINE!
We swam out to the entry, which was from the ocean, and I stood in waist-deep water and jumped up and down and up and down and yelled "Yay!" until everybody else was laughing at me.
Thanks to Ela Bertoni for being my buddy, and doing all the tedious line repair work, and for letting me put the arrow on the end of the line.
