apeks low profile dump valve.

Post by Jeff Pack »

I'm going to replace the dump valve on my fusion.

I see a "Apeks Typhoon" low profile dump valve (around 50$) and
Low Profile Dump valve around 68$.

Which do I need?

I like the Apeks low profile. The only leak problems I have had with it, have been caused by me doing something wrong when putting it back together. Other than that, its great. And it dumps pretty quickly too, which I like

I had an occasional leak of the apeks, a usual seepage, and today leaked even worse. Pulled it apart, salt away, ran warm water throughit, guess I'll see how wednesday it works. I may just pull the other apeks off of my backup Whites.

Hmm, somehow I have 4 drysuits... 2 x apeks reg profile, 1 apeks low profile, 1 sci-tec. They are all fine but I like the low profile the best. It has the lowest profile and actually operates the best (dumps more than enough in fact I dial it back a 1/4 turn.)

Last night didnt leak at all, so cleaning it out was a good plan. It still seeps waterthough, left arm is always abit damp.

Is that just the way it is which these supposedly one way valves?

A damp arm is a leak.... No, they should not leak at all. Time for a new valve.
