CANCELLED Dare to Drift Part 2 !!! whidbey Island April 28th

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH man this tide is ripping out ... 6 foot high tide to -2 neg low tide...
for those of you who have not done this dive is goes like this... we meet at driftwood on Whidbey Island.. and get in there, the current rocks us down all the way to keystone .. over a Mile and half..
what do you need for this dive ?
a 119 or 130 tank
or Doubles...
Or a scooter for added fun..
You will hit a deco at 50 mins , but we usually shallow up to 25 feet and finish the drift
Happy diving attitude..

If you have never done a drift dive and you are wanting to exp a blast then this is the dive for you
I would ask if your going to show for this dive , that you have experience in current, boat diving in current, and skills in diving solo and being seperated... we have had divers seperate on this dive..

max current is at 10 am ... so we want to splash at 930 ...

I had been looking for a day to do this, and a while back I searched through a whole bunch of days looking for a time when the currents ripped at a time other than midnight. For some reason I must have missed this date... Adding it to my calendar.

If I can get back home early enough and get some good sleep, I'm in on this drift dive. Chris, 2loud4u, dieseldude and I, did this last year and it was a lot of fun.

Just in case anyone is on the fence about doing this dive but lacks proper tankage, I will have two HP130's available to loan out for your diving pleasure. I would only ask in return a small donation to help refill said tanks. I will be flying in double LP85's.

There is a slight chance I'll be able to make it, have to run to Seatac that morning. I'll have to double check on the time but I'll be dropping my folks off by 0630 (0800 flight iirc). If I have my gear assembled and drive nearly like a madman I should get there in time.

And you thought I was crazy for driving to bubbles and suds. I checked the mileage once when I met Blaiz for a dive and if you drive around instead of take the ferry it's almost 200 miles from my house to Keystone. According to Mapquest it's 186.61 miles via the Mukilteo ferry. Can wait!

well im hoping that the viz clears up some by this sunday... or this dive is really going o suck.. we will be drifting in soup and stew mixed up with 5 feet of visability ..

I can vouch for Jim, he's mad speedy at gearing up. Looks like he's headed in to rescue somebody as fast as he can suit up. You won't be held up waiting for him!

Coulterboy--jealous of your silo dive, hope to do it after some more experience. Can't wait to hear all about it!!! Have a great trip to E WA!
