what kind of critter is this? he was at the mukilteo t dock about 65fsw!i have never seen it there before.

That's a grunt sculpin! They're incredibly cute little critters, who tend to "crawl" along the bottom, rather than swim. I understand that if you remove them from the water, they make a grunting noise. They're not rare, but it's always fun to find one.

Yup! Grunt Sculpins are HIGH on my list of "cool things that make a dive special." Also on that list are wolfeels, octos, lumpsuckers, stubby squid, sixgills, bay pipefish, and various other of the not-so-usual-suspects. \:D/
