Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
Does anyone know if this actually exists?
Aside from maybe one source, all I've seen or heard about was failed attempts to find it.
Is this a mythological site?

Yep, those are the only sources I've seen.
And everyone I know who followed those directions didn't find it.

This article describes a possible slide associated with L Cresent but not an underwater forest like those in L Washington.

Mythological trees imo
Re: Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
Forest has unicorns too. And maybe smurfs. The right gas mix and you'll find them, no problem.Jeremy wrote:Mythological trees imo

Been there. 25 minute swim from entry point and not worth doing.
It DOES exist though.

Re: Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
I'll try to download the small bit of video I have on it... but we entered the water at the point to the far west of the cabins at the Lake Crescent Lodge (where the creek enters the lake). We swam out to the SSW at a depth of approx. 50 feet for 15 minutes. We found a couple of upright trees and a couple of large branches that look like they made it there from a landslide. The site sounds MUCH more impressive than it actually is.

You have to believe that if it were worth looking for someone here would be all over it. If you ask here and no one comes up with co-ordinates forget it.

The "underwater forest" is at 60 feet just to the right of Snipe Point

Do you usually see the red herring swimming through the trees?Jeremy wrote:The "underwater forest" is at 60 feet just to the right of Snipe Point

(Thanks for the video btw!!!)
Re: Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
I think there were a couple more in the other direction, but not much more. It may not be a dive I would seek out to do again, but it's worth the drive if only to get some pretty good vis for a change.
Re: Lake Crescent Underwater Forest
Jeesh there's more trees than that at east beach
