Getting my money's worth out of my G-9 setup

Post by nwscubamom »

I used to shoot a Sea&Sea MX-10 film camera, and spent upwards of $8 per dive on film and processing for my prints.
Five years ago I got a Canon G-9, an Ikelite housing for it, as well as a little Ikelite DS-51 strobe.
At the time, I choked on the cost ($1700) for all of that, having previously sworn I would never spend more than $500 on a camera. I had hoped eventually the low cost of getting images from it would cover the cost.

Well, I am pleased to report that after 5 years and 318 dives shooting photos later, I've more than broken even! It comes out to a cost of only $5 per dive at this point. WOOT!! :partydance:

Janna,
if your camera ever breaks let me know. I have a G9 that I hardly ever use, and I might be talked into parting with it.
