Thank You Tom.

I enjoyed spending time with you in the water last January and look forward to your next trip to Sitka.

You will be missed as a mod Tom. You've done a great job.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Thanks for your service to the dive community! I've got a great appreciation for all the moderators and work that goes into keeping this board online and working so well... and keeping all the personalities playing together well in the same sandbox.

Tom, we've never met, and I hope we do. You have been a valuable asset to this community, and I believe your wisdom, and encouragement to the members here, whether new divers, or members who needed some help to remember to be kind to our sisters and brothers, has been a great part of why this forum is the most civilized place to communicate on the net I have ever found. Thank you again for your service. It is appreciated.

Kind of like the presidency four years of being under paid and blamed for everything even if you didn't do it!

Thanks Tom for your selfless service to the board.

It will be hard to find anyone as level-headed and empathetic as Tom to moderate. Thank you from me for the years of doing this --as a moderator on ScubaBoard, I know how it goes!

Whew! I thought that this was a eulogy at first....
Tom has been a very even tempered mod these past four years and, try as the Thursday crew might, he has always remained tight lipped about the behind the scenes pm's during the flame wars.He would just shake his head and say that he isn't paid enough...... :notworthy:

Thank you for all the years of service, Tom! Hopefully you're not reentering civilian life with too many scars and enemies from your time in the trenches!

Quite the service term, and you certainly deserve the break.

Big Thank You to Mr. Tom Nic

I would like to ask everyone here at NWDC to join me in thanking Mr. Tom Nicodemus for his generous service as a Moderator, and overall level-headed individual, over the years (I don't know exactly how many, but I think at least four!).

As the 33rd member of what started out as a very little dive club ("POD" in Sparky's words), Tom Nic is in many ways the embodiment of Northwest Dive Club. He started out as quite a n00b diver, signing up for Janna's Invertebrate ID class with me, so that we could figure out what the heck we were looking at. Then, Tom started taking photos, while logging dive after dive with other oldtimers like Bassman, down in the South End. Today, Tom Nic's photos are some of my favorites, and I think many of you here will agree too, it's simply awesome to watch someone go from a casual picture snapper to someone whose photos you're proud to show to other people saying "my friend took this!"

Whether it's trying unsuccessfully to get him to throw down The Shocker™ with me and Rawlings in a photo, or hearing his bellowing singing in the morning (when I'm just creeping out of my vampire pit), I have found it an honor to know Tom Nic and to have his steady hand here as a NWDC Mod. He will be missed as a Mod, but is certainly not lost to us as a dive buddy.

Let's all give Mr. Nicodemus a round of applause and a proper sendoff into civilian life.
