You may have an early published account of the recovery. The Sheriff's Department has now confirmed 6 sets of remains and that the discovery was made by a public safety dive team testing a side scan sonar. I have also read, that the older car went missing sometime in the late 50's or early 60's.

I'm still curious to know what the road near the lake looks like? Must be a curvey mess if 2 cars went in at the same place.
