Dive Gear Insurance

i know there is a thread about this somewhere Here ? but i thought i would repost this as i cant find the thread... A lot of us have very expensive gear , some of us have cameras that are over 4k , and others have divex scooters , expensive suits, dive gear , etc..etc.. a simple flood can ruin it , as i learned diving Day island wall a few weeks back i ruined my gopro by having the wrong door on it ... Cm stealth lost his Rig at Norranders reef ... if i ruined my Hd rig from a leak that would cost me over a thousand to replace... as with my sierra scooter $3600 ...
So who offers dive gear coverage ? and what are the companies ?

I've often heard it comes down to adding a rider on your homeowners insurance, or using one of the DAN insurance policies.

yep that's the one... so is H2o insurance a good company ? Because Dan will only cover like$2600...

Maybe check the policy? I rather doubt renter's or homeowners insurance is a good strategy to cover equipment you break or lose. Especially if you have a reasonable deductible to make the polict remotely affordable in the first place.

the homeowner policies are cheaper, the downside being if you use your policy, your homeowners goes up substantially, costing you more in the end.

Or that seems to be the prevailing information on this from the varied scubaboard posts on insurance and the tradeoffs between DAN and an insurance rider.

Yeah they basically front you the money to replace your gear and you end up paying for it over the next 3+ years.

Don't waste your money on DAN. They had they balls to tell me my injury was not "dive related" after I broke my leg exiting the water in full dive gear. They turned down both the medical expenses and the cost of the dry suit, which the EMTs had to cut off of me. I had their dive insurance as well as the gear insurance.
