Afternoon all! New in the Portland/Vancouver area and just got re-certified. Got all of my own gear and have done some dives in Puget Sound, Garibaldi, and a couple of weeks ago up at Clear Lake. Heading out tomorrow to get some cool, probably poor weather, dives in as well with a local dive buddy who's been in the game for a long time.

Nice to meet you!!!! I keep visiting Portland often and so far have not known dive buddies there.

I've only been diving with a co-worker. A few others have gone diving in the past but haven't seemed to keep it up. Not a ton of options down here, especially this time of year, unless you want to drive up to Puget or hit one of the lake dives East or SE of Portland in the snow.

there is a very large Oregon contingent here on nwdc. We even have our own forum at http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewforum.php?f=20. Check it out. There are many of us that do a weekly or bi-weekly trek up to the Sound for a couple of dives. The guys I dive with usually do weekday dives but there are many divers who head up on the weekends as well. You should have no trouble finding buddies or carpool opportunities.
