Very cool stuff, but it's not a new discovery... From another site (http://www.greenfork.info/2013/06/herac ... -went.html) with many of the same photos and a bit more in the way of information, we see that it's been actively explored for a long time. That page says it was last updated in 2008, and it says "... During 13 years of excavation c the discovery of the first artifacts ..."

That would definitely be a cool dive site!

A dive operator in Egypt runs trips to the site.

I'm headed to the Red Sea in September. This looks like it would be an awsome side trip!

It would be fascinating to dive some of these spots and see things like that for yourself and it sounds like they are in fairly shallow locations. The Mediterranean has thousands of underwater relics that would be a thrill to see. It is very difficult to get permits in some of the areas though. Makes anything you'll see anywhere else seem like new stuff.

BillZ, I envy you. The red sea has some of the best diving anywhere and a very diverse ecosystem. Take lots of pix for us please.

I would have liked to see more info about how the discovery is going to change history, but I guess cool pictures sell more advertising.

From what was said it will be because they now know the location and there were several perfectly preserved stone hieroglyphic tablets that once transcribed will give them much knowledge about the timelines of historical events.

Regardless of when it was originally located this is cool. Finding a little bit of history like this is worth reading about.
