OK, so if this turns out to be a buncha blow, I won't be surprised and I haven't researched it a bit. But still, how could would this be if it wasn't? Ditching all those heavy tanks and having endless dives?

I'm skeptical to say the least given the technical challenges, but still, a boy can dream, can't he?
Human Gills?
Re: Human Gills?
One problem: it delivers pure oxygen. Try to go to any kind of depth and it'd be toxic.

We had a laugh over that just about a month ago.
To Air is Human,
To Respire, Divine.

Bah! You guys -- always so interested in science... in what will work! Humbug!
Not surprised to see there's major technical difficulties, to say the least. Usually I'm the one debunking the pseudoscience... just got lazy this time I guess. M'bad...
Guess it's kinda similar to the tuna's problem... they can never stop swimming I guess since they need to keep cramming water up their ramjet to keep their warm blooded bodies (right? for a fish? woah...) from going anaerobic.
Or so I'm told. Honestly, haven't verified that either.
Yeah, I'm that lazy.
Details, details....
thx for the lnx, tho... and yes, I applaud stomping the pseudoscience and blush in my laziness for not doing so myself...
Peace and happiness...
