Finally! back to PT again!

Post by Dusty2 »

I'm heading back up on Monday for a week. My broken fridge in the RV is back up and running and the eye Doc says it's OK to play with the fishies again. Now to see if my rickety old bod is still up to it? I have no idea what the viz is like but next week is the best currents you'll get this month.

Vis today was 10+ ft, or better.

Kim and I did a drift dive from the old Swains parking lot to the Maritime center, with vehicles staged at either end. All was great until we got out... and he told me that he left his keys back in my truck at the starting point. So I trudged all the way through downtown PT in my drysuit. Oooh, I'm not going to let him forget this one!

Hi Tim, yeah let's go diving again!

We're finding little treasures.Yesterday my buddy found a nice little cream pitcher [insert envy here]. I found... the remains of an brass (artillery?) shell.

That definitely looks like some kind of an artillery shell to me. Couldn't even begin to tell you what though. Good find, that's cool.

Judging from size compared to the other objects I'd say 20mm anti aircraft.

If there's one, there's probably lots more of those brass casings around. Methinks.

Bigger than 20 mm I think. More like 30 mm.

Vis yesterday was 10-15 ft, once we got below the silt stirred up by the windy conditions. Prob'ly better today.

Cool, I was hoping that it wasn't green out conditions like it is in this end of the sound! You need sonar and a buddy leash down here.

Good chance there would be more. Those were used in anti aircraft fire and it'd pretty hard to do single shot with those guys.
