New diver, hunting for buddies! (Plug: I know my fish!)

Post by DGFishy »

Hey all,

This doesn't appear to be a unique thread on this corner of the forum, but I'm still excited to be here posting! As the title says, I''m a very new diver.. I've only had two dives in the PNW; I'm looking to change that! I've made it a goal to prep myself for GUE fundamentals before the end of the summer, and for that, I'm going to need a huge amount of practice.

I'm a full time university student at the UW Seattle, but I'm free after 3:30 most days, with wide-open weekends! I own most of my own kit, but still need to grab a tank and weights from a LDS. I'd also need a light, if conditions warranted it.

I'm still very much an awkward diver, but I'm a decent ichthyologist. I can probably help with any fish IDs you might not know :).

Good to see you here, and I hope you do well with buddies! And we're still on for the 14th, right?

I've been diving with Fishy. He's a good buddy already, and is seriously trying to become a skilled diver. And he convinced me I had seen a tide pool sculpin, which was a new species for me!

As said elsewhere, I'll happily buddy with you ... but I can't really come north to pick you up on a weeknight. Driving through downtown once on a weeknight is a nightmare. Doing it twice would make for a 3+ hour ride to Cove 2 from my place, what with traffic and all.

If you can make it to Cove 2 on a weeknight, I can supply you with tank and weights ...
