Any chance the viz will hold out until Saturday with the temp's coming back up?

Not sure, but DIW was about 20-25' last night. I sure hope it holds out.

Did a few new to me dive sites this past week.

Cove 2 on Thurs the 10th, viz was awesome! 30'-ish down by the I-beams a bit hazier up shallower.

Lake Washington on Fri the 11th, viz was a bit tighter, but still a good 15-20' though It sure was pretty dang dark below 80'!

Lake Crescent was an amazing 100' or so on Sat and Sun (12th/13th). It was incredible to keep dropping down, seeing the bottom, but taking forever to get there!

What's the water temp at Lake Crescent?
Don't tempt me with a good time. I may just take you up on that offer.

cold... once you get below around 60ft lower 40's as I recall. Thermocline was nice though.

Viz at TTN last week was a disappointingly murky 10' after the reports of Cover 2'set stellar viz.

Time to try Hood Canal.

Cove 2 was a smutsy 15' to 20' at best yesterday. We went down to 73' and was still all stirred up even down there. On a high note though, I found the Honey Bear for the first time and saw the resident octo there. That was really cool!!!

What's the water temp at Lake Crescent?
The coldest my computer logged at Crescent was 47* at 145' on Saturday. The first Thermocline hit us about 47-48' and then the next one at 70`-ish. It definitely felt cold at each 'cline. Plus we were breathing trimix, which chills you faster, I def was happy running argon in our suits (which really surprised me how warm it was compared to air).

Our deepest dive was 156' on Sunday, unfortunately I was trying a different computer and didn't get a temp reading.

Did 3 'birthday dives' yesterday.... Great day above and below.

Pt. Whitney was less than 10' in the shallows, very disappointing after stellar viz a few weeks ago. It cleared up below 50-60 fsw to about 20'

Marine Science Center Dock - Port Townsend. Gorgeous viz - 25 - 30 feet.

Point Hudson - 30' easy, one of the best dives I've done here. We entered the water a bit late, but still had very calm water most of the time. I wish this site wasn't so darn far away!

I've heard consistent reports of Sunnyside and Cove 2 having 25-30' viz. So, what is up with Redondo and Three Tree North?!?!? They should be great but what I've heard and experienced is nasty viz.

Viz yesterday at Redondo wasn't bad in front of the mast - initially 15' or so. Going South and coming up in the shallows lumpie hunting we ran into a mini Redondo River and viz was considerably less.

A group of us from the Oregon Scuba Club got together with Carey from Seven Seas Scuba in Vancouver and dove Alki Fishing Reef and KVI Tower with the Ocean Quest crew yesterday. Viz at Alki Fishing Reef was about 20' and a bit better at KVI right about 30' .

Viz at EUP was a fuzzy 20 feet or so. Loads of kelp and eelgrass bits were making a gnarly, thick sludge at the edge of the water at high tide.

Camano Wall VIS 25 to 30 feet at 50 to 100 FSW.
About 15 feet at Gedney (Hat Is) Barges at 75 FSW - We saw nothing but rubble but may not have covered it all.
The wood piling seawall has been replaced by concrete since I was here last.
Perhaps anchoring the work barge hastened the demise of the old rotten wood barges below.

Has anyone splashed at Sund Rock in the past couple days? I heard last weekend was bad. Wondering if a trip is worth it with viz so spectacular around Seattle.

Keystone was a fuzzy 10-15. Glad we didn't have the club dive there, the current was erratic and quite stiff at times.
