Hi
I was looking to plan some Salt Creek camping and diving in the spring.
Does anybody have recommendations on which month it usually starts being suitable for diving?
Whatever that month be, is it within the season that reservations are usually required?
Who's in?

Re: Salt Creek in the Spring
That's one of my favorite camping/dive combos. It's a bit of a crap shoot. I choose a weekend based upon current predictions and then hope the weather cooperates. Low northerly winds are best to keep the entry surge free. I also am prepared to not go if the weather/winds aren't optimal. Don't think there's a better month as it's all too variable.
I've only had to get reservations during summer months when the campground is packed. Unless you're particular about getting a site near the dive sites. Good news is they do reservations online now. Before you had to mail in a check.
I'm interested in this trip. Let me know what you decide!

I wouldn't bother before May, but I hate dive/camps in the rain.

I'm interested, too. I have an rv trailer so the rain doesn't bother me.
i'll keep monitoring this thread closely. I've wanted to dive there for ages but can't get buddies to camp and dive that far from home.
Let's do it!

I can confirm that this is the case!ScubaJess wrote:I'm in!!! I hope Gdog and his wife can come! I hear legendary good things about camping with them!
Yes, camping/diving there in the rain is no fun. We did it last July!
I'm down. We should probably pick some dates and reserve some campsites.
