Sund Rock in the Cold 1/2/16

Post by YellowEye »

Howdy Folks
SJ, SeattlePaul1975, MightyMouse, 4 others and I went to Sund Rock today. What a great day!

First dive was to the south wall, then we did the north wall and wreck. Brrr it was cold outside, in the mid 20's when we got there. But it wasn't bad once down to 15 feet deep.

Here were some of the snaps:

Hi!
We saw it at 40' on the north wall, just below the aquarium!

I wonder if there are a couple juveniles at Sund Rock ....
We saw one a few weeks ago on the wreck but maybe it got chased off from people looking for it.

I believe one person mentioned in another thread they saw 3 on one dive there recently. Not sure if the wreck was one of the locations. I somehow doubt the chase off!

Interesting at 40' that's pretty shallow, they usually tuck in to crevices and stay in the same spot for a long time.

Yes, the DFW guy said he thought it was low too. This was high tide too!

Saw 2 juvi yelloweyes today at your exact same spot! So beautiful at that small size, always a pleasure to see them up close. I will be submitting this dive to REEF.
