Mulkateo, still divable?

Post by shaggie »

I recently saw a video of divers chasing down crab at Mulkateo. Is the area near the t dock still accessible from shore?

Yes, Mukilteo is fine. I dove there last week. We used the steps at the south end of the Silver Cloud. Pay parking till 8PM. Good luck.

Yes it's still used heavily on the weekends for teaching and it is still open for diving it will still remain open for diving even though the new Dock is being built for the ferry system that was part of the Cities agreement to us Divers

Do you guys still walk over to where the oil dock used to be for crabbing? I've been going to the other dock by the train tracks and I'd catch 2 or 3 if I'm lucky. I miss the old oil dock... I took it for granted.

I'm told with the removal of the dock, the area has become much more current sensitive?

The site is somewhat more current sensitive w/o the old oil dock. I pay more attention to the local current marker predictions now.

As far as crabbing goes, there is still some structure on the bottom where the dock used to be, and a few crab may be found there. Occasionally crab may also be found south of the geodome, hiding in the vegetation on the bottom.
