Anemone riding a crab

Post by orcasc205 »

Last night while in the bottle field at Redondo, we spotted a medium sized Dungeness crab that had a Swimming Anemone sitting on the top of its shell. The crab seemed oblivious (well, as oblivious as a crab can seem) to its passenger that was riding around on top of it as it walked along. Unfortunately none of us had our cameras with us, but I wish I could photoshop a pair of reins and a cowboy hat on the anemone. Has anyone seem an anemone riding a crab before?

I take photos because I like it, not because I'm good at it. :) by Unknown

On a smaller scale, here is a crab wearing a barnacle from last Sunday at Keystone.
