Two species of Mola in the NE Pacific Ocean

Post by YellowEye » Fri Feb 05, 2021 2:43 am

Hi.
There's been a recent finding that there are actually two species of Mola in the NE Pacific Ocean - Mola mola AND Mola tecta!

See this website for more info.
https://mersociety.org/mola

The site is asking for molas reports from bc and alaska but I asked and they said they'd also appreciate sighting forms filled out for Washington!

Now I guess I have two types of molas on my bucket list!
Get out of cove 2 and explore!
