Hi there. RE that OMS LP98. Is the yoke screw in insert welded in due to saltwater bridge? cross threaded? I currently have all yoke regs, but plan to start gradually switching over to DIN, so I don't want to buy a tank that can't be used with both.
Thank you,
Brandon

Brandon: I'm assuming that it is salt water welded. I have never removed it and bought the tank new so it should not be cross threaded. I asked a knowledgeable person about it and was told if the valve were removed for service it might be able to be cleaned and loosened. I gave it as much torque as I felt comfortable applying to not strip out the plug. I can't make any guarantees other than that.

Thank you Mark. I think you're probably right. I speak from similar experience with an insert. In the end, I replaced the valve. OK, well thanks again. For now I will stand down.

Throwing the valve in an ultrasonic cleaner with some white vinegar is your best bet to loosen that up. I would think your LDS could do that for you at the next VIP since they typically service the valves at VIP.

That is always an option that I may have to do if it does not sell to someone who wants a yoke valve.
