Sund Rock, May 8th.
Second dive- the South Wall.
The Giant Plumose Anemones are pretty good at catching the Fried egg jellies. Blackeye gobbies are everywhere. Plenty stuff to see here...

Langley Harbor, May 14th.
Visiting "my" Pycnopodia. One concern I have, for the first time, the mooring anchor H-beam, which ALWAYS had sea stars is now devoid of them....

Holmes Harbor. May 15th.
Another day, another dive. Finding such good visibility the day before, I dipped my toes into the waters of Holmes Harbor, not so far from yesterday's Langley Harbor. I did find some Sunflower stars here, not as many, but still, it does my heart good to see them. I wish they would grow up faster and spawn new ones... :)😍

Langley Harbor, May 22nd.
University of Oregon visit explained :
"For all- we collected 18 so that we can validate a sublethal method of gonad index (arm snips). We are using the sublethal method to estimate reproduction with size and season so that we will be able to assess population reproductive output without killing more pycnos in the future. "

I just learned that this is not Coryphella verrucosa but Apata cf. pricei. I wait for the new book on slugs so I can learn more about it.

Deception Pass, June 7th .
It is days like this, which provide the much needed antidote to the frequent rains we experiencing this Spring here in the PNW. Although the one dark cloud that day was the failure of my strobe right at the beginning of the dive. I did check the system before I left home, at first, after I entered the water the strobe fired but soon started to act up. Grossly overexposing the shot, then fails to fire at all, I tied different modes and setting before it failed. The brake in the fiber-optic cable was not obvious until I got home. So, I used the Sola light to help to bring some of the colors out. After all, it was a nice dive under the blue skies.
It is raining now again...

Wolf-eels are not a common sight at the Pass. Scalyhead sculpins and Kelp greenlings on the other hand are encountered on every dive. Artist on the beach painting the scenery let me take a picture of her work.

Langley Harbor, June 10th.
Bad visibility due to planktonic soup cut my survey short, but I still found some Sunflower stars.
And couple wasting stars, no Pycnopodia.
