I had a super fun day yesterday with Coastal Sensing and the Washington Scuba Alliance. We went out on the MV Phoniex, it's a really cool sonar research vessel.
We are searching for some of the 500,000 tires in the Puget Sound with ROVs and sonar scanning devices. Once they are mapped, we can work on removing them from the waters.
I highly recommend joining the WSA. It's $25 for the year and is a fantastic group of divers and members who care about the health of the Salish Sea!
If you join up, you can help on our next critter removal dive. We want to relocate any critters from the tires before they are pulled out. Let's save our beautiful oceans!
