Double Bluff beach, May 11, 2024.
No diving was involved, I just lowered camera below the surface and employed the point & shoot option . :)

Holmes Harbor, May 22, 2024 dive.
In spite of bad visibility, I went to look for Sunflower stars. And I found 39 of them, very nice surprise indeed. :)

Driftwood Pond #2, May 27, 2024 dive.
It is always interesting to compare the two ponds, So close together and yet so different. While Pond #1 has thousands of Moon jellies, not a single one is seen in here. The microbial mats are more extensive here too...

Driftwood Pond #2, May 27, 2024 dive.
And as always, the rest of the pixels.
Interesting observations from this dive.
1. ALL the wireweed in neighboring Pond#1 died while this pond is all healthy.
2. I found healthy adult Red rock crab. Never seen one in ponds before.
3. The numbers of White Bubble Shell slugs and their eggs are much more numerous here.
4. Not a single Moon jelly, Water jellies instead.

Jan: I was just talking to a volunteer as Port Townsend Marine Science Center and she said Friday Harbor Labs is trying to breed a variety of sunflower star that can survive the conditins that bring on wasting. Are you familar with this effort?
