FOR SALE: OxySpy Oxygen Analyzer

Post by John Rawlings »

There are a LOT of NWDC members out there that are diving Nitrox as well as many that are getting into technical diving. I'll bet that most of you don't have an O2 analyzer. An O2 analyzer is one of the most important tools for a diver that needs to know his/her O2 percentage.

I've had my OxySpy O2 Analyzer for several years and have always found it to be easy to use and accurate. I stopped using it when I bought an O2/He analyzer. I now use the O2/He analyzer all the time and the OxySpy has been sitting on a shelf ever since.

Here's a link to photos and a technical description of the unit:

http://www.dynatron.ch/OxySpy-e.htm

Here's a link to the web site of the US distributor for the unit, Tech Diving Limited:

http://tdl.divebiz.net/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=224

My OxySpy is in excellent condition. I just today put in a brand new Oxygen Sensor and battery (total: $95.42) and it works perfectly. My unit comes with a padded travel case as well as the only tool that is necessary to work on the unit - a small phillips screwdriver. There is a full manual that also comes with it.

Please note that Tech Diving Limited wants $375.00 for an OxySpy, plus tax, shipping and handling.

I'm asking $250.00.

Please PM or e-mail me if you are interested.

This would be a sweet deal... but alas, no analyzer or scuba units... :toimonster:

ARGH! I wish I had the scuba units right now... Next on my list is the O2 kit so I really can't afford to do the analizer yet.. O2 kit is more important IMHO because I don't dive nitrox that much.. Bummer for me..

John,

I've only used a few different types of O2 analyzers, and I don't think this is one of them. Is there a reason why this one is shaped quite differently than most? (it looks larger and like a garden hose nozzle). Is it more functional in some way?

you dont need a 1st stage hook up on this one, you just hold up the bottom part right to the valve and crack it open slowly.
Chin high, puffed chest, we step right to it
The choice is there ain't no choice but to pursue it

Burntchef is correct. It's designed with the shape it is so that you can hold it easily in one hand while slowly cracking the valve on the tank open with the other hand.

It's actually quite small.

Hmmm... this is how all the O2 analyzers have worked, that I've tried. You mean, some of them you need a first stage hooked up? Then what?

A "sweetening" bump: reduced to $200.00 to make it a bit easier on the "scuba units".

Gas would be bled off through an orifice on the LP hose at ~2L/min to the analyzer.
