Bandito Charters Dive Tuesday November 20

Post by Cold_H2O »

I have a dive buddy coming out from New York for some great PNW diving.
I called Rick and we have The Sampan for the day. Dive sites have yet to be selected.
We will figure it out based on the skills of the divers on board and the currents that morning.

Anyone looking to spend the Tuesday before Thanksgiving diving with me and Bandito Charters?
(OK~you don't have to dive with ME... just come out and enjoy a great day of diving with a handful of friends)
I would like to have the boat full ~ Sampan holds 14 divers comfortably.
I have about 7 spots still open.

Typical Bandito charter ~ $70, 2 tanks/dives, lunch of soup and sandwiches.
Supply your own gear.
Will be meeting the boat in Tacoma.

Post here is you will be joining us. Email me if you have any questions.

Non divers are always welcome to come along as bubble watchers. There is a non diver fee.

Lets get 2 great dives in before Thanksgiving.

Ooh! Crap, I'd love to go. Unfortunately I have to take off the Friday before for the Sunshine Coast, BC trip! I don't think the boss would be digging me taking off another day! #-o

Its going to be fun. \:D/

Still space if anyone else wants to come along.

Colleen says the boat isn't full yet...
Are there any takers...seems this would be great to start the hectic week with a relaxing day on Banditos...
I have to work soooo many hours that day that I am unable to attend. Bummer!!!!
Hope everyone has a great dive.

I have a visitor from Chicago, and we're going to join the fun tomorrow. Tony's a great guy and a beautiful diver, but he dives the Great Lakes and is afraid of fish. We should have lots of fun!

Hmm, class or diving...class or diving. I know which I'd prefer! So this trip is alright for non-advanced divers? :)

Bandito charter 11-20-07

Post by Navigator »

We had a great dive with Rick at Bandito charters.
At first dive site, (Vashon Island south) current was pretty strong on the surface, but when we got down to the bottom about 40' it was OK.
Visibility about 20 - 25.
It’s my first time at this dive site and I was very impressed with the wall.
Couldn't see bottom and didn't even wanted to see it.
Current was really mild below ledge. Saw only one couple of Wolfe’s.
Lots of seashells on the wall. Bottom time about 50 min with 119-th.

Second dive site was Sunrise Beach Park. Small current. Vis about 15-20.
Had to abort dive about half way through. My buddy had problem with his fancy DSLR. :pale: Anyway, saw one wolfeel and three GPO there....
Petting zoo ....\:D/
Great day to be on the boat in November.

Thank you Rick

Dennis

Thanks everyone who made it out today.
The diving was great the dive buddies were fabulous.

We dove Dalco Wall and Sunrise. Did almost and hour on Dalco and over 40 minutes at Sunrise.
I even made a few scallops dance.

Vis was good and the currents were not bad.

We have got to do this again soon. :supz:

Colleen,
Were you harassing the scallops again? I love those things. When they start their dance I laugh so hard my mask floods.
And YOU did Dalco Wall....good for you girlfriend.!!!! :)

We had a wonderful time. The weather could not have been more beautiful (for November, anyway). I was very happy to get to do Dalco again, because I'd only been there once before. The feeling of "flying" out over the edge of the wall is intoxicating. Rick did his usual masterful job of timing, so that we had just enough current to drift at walking pace. LOTS of shellfish of various sorts, but not a whole lot else to show my guest.

Sunrise, on the other hand, was its usual fertile self for critter-spotting. I found two crescent gunnels out in the open, a saddleback gunnel, several penpoint gunnels, several varieties of nudibranch, showed Tony a ratfish and about ten species of starfish (people who dive in the Great Lakes like ALL our sea life!), and, at the end, I found a HUGE GPO in a hole. I was so excited I squeaked through my regulator!

We had spent the surface interval touring the waterfront homes of Gig Harbor, sucking down hot chicken soup, and munching wonderful homemade brownies. (I'll go out on ANY trip ColdH20Diver organizes :))

It was a wonderful day to play hooky and dive, and thanks to ColdH20Diver for organizing it, and allowing me and my Chicago buddy to tag along.

YEP ! I did Dalco.... amazing isn't it... \:D/ Rick promised me it would be fine and it was GREAT !!!

I hit 77' on the wall. Enjoyed the dive.... I think I can do it again.

I did not harrass any scallops... I just got close and one got excited.
He then landed on a HUGE Sunflower Star and got really excited.
I have never seen one dance twice... My dive buddy Paul got it on video.

LCF ~ You are always welcome to join me on any dive. Loved meeting up again.
Your buddy Tony is great. He fit in well with the rest of us. He is welcome to come along anytime.
I do spoil the crew of Bandito.... almost always bake something to share. It ensures that Rick will let me on board. :prayer:
