I could not figure how to attach a pdf attachment so here is a picture of the plans for a great dry suit dryer.

drysuit drying and storing
i use 1 1/2 inch pvc. iam lucky enought to have a relatively warm basement so all my gear gets stowed there. i hung a 7 foot long piece from the cieling and used heave duty hangers. it holds 2 dry suits, 3 wet suits, 2 backplate set ups, on the end of it i made a upside down " tree " for all the fins, gloves, hoods to dry.

My self I used 1 1/2 inch PVC I know Jay used 1 1/ 4 inch PVC for his and I based my design off of his PVC is actually pretty inexpensive so I would use the 1 1/2 that way you know your not going to brake it
also what I did was not glue the last section of up right that way I can put my Dry suit on it and then hang it on the rest of the stand
just makes my life a little easer being so short is a pain at times
I also have some extra i am going to make a tank rack out of
not sure if I want to make it like the one Chuck has in his pictures of if i am going to be making mine so it will store my tanks standing up
My tanks spend a lot of time riding around in the back of my Ram Charger just because of my involvement with the Dive Team
I have heard it was a bad idea to store your tanks on there side for any amount of time but that don't make a lot sense to me
if there is no moisture in the tank from the compressor why not

Re: drysuit drying and storing
Little late but I have a question too about drying my suit. This is my drying rack, but the problem is since I got my new dry suit it's not tall enough. If I make it taller I won't be able to reach the top to hang the suit upside down so I can rinse it. Any Ideas?
Also: Has anyone seen stainless steel casters? I want to make a permanant draying rack made of steel square stock with casters so I can wheel it in and out of the garage. But I don't want the wheels to rust.
Thanks
Sheahan

Re: drysuit drying and storing
I planned on the tubing to be regular steel. I was just worried about the casters, since I wash the stuff off on the rack. I think if I powdercoat it I won't have to worry about paint peeling. Powdercoat is cheap, and my co-worker has an oven!!!

He he. You must have seen my post before I deleted it. I deleted it after I re-read your post and realized you just meant stainless for the casters. Sorry about that. Powdercoating will be great. Be sure to post pictures. I bet it turns out very nice.sheahanmcculla wrote:I planned on the tubing to be regular steel. I was just worried about the casters, since I wash the stuff off on the rack. Re: drysuit drying and storing
For rinsing I hang it off the most convenient place I can find (folding ladder at home) on a hanger. I bought a Peet boot dryer and extended the legs with PVC of the same diameter and slip-on connectors. The feet slip over the top of the PVC and the suit goes over the drier and drips in a largish tuber ware. It gets stored in the bag.
