Wishing our gals good luck on their Instructor Exams!
Valerie and Georgia will be doing their Instructor Exams next weekend, and I wanted to be the first to wish them well!!
I'm extremely confident they'll both do incredibly well - and will both become assets to the Pacific NW's pool of fine instructors who go above-and-beyond in their teaching.
They're the cream and we're lucky to have them among us!
Good luck girls, and know I'll be thinking of you! I know you'll show up all the boys too

Georgia and Val,
You both are going to do great on the IE. IDC is much harder. You are just getting tested on what you already know. I am confident that you will pass with flying colors.
Do you know who your examiner will be yet? Leslie does a lot of them and she is great. Have a lot of fun this weekend

Valerie and Georgia really don't need good luck....they've always made their own luck by being knowledgeable, skilled, enthusiastic and prepared.
I have NO doubt that the PNW will soon boast two more excellent instructors!

We PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got home about 45 minutes ago, poor Georgia is still on the road We drove up Friday around noon, were settled in our hotel room by early evening, got dinner and spent the rest of the evening studying and feeling as stressed as I ever have in my life. After a few hours sleep we were up at 0530, packing everything up to go to the YWCA for our day of exams. Spent about 12 hours there, doing written exams first, then pool work (skills circuit and confined water presentations), then back upstairs for classroom presentations before calling it a night.
The day ended with us scoring good marks and feeling MUCH better about things. Had dinner and actually had some time to read something NON-diving before going to bed.
Up at 0530 again today, to be at the dive site in North Vancouver by 0730. After driving thro downtown Vancouver and seeing all it's culture changes, including a drug deal going down, we found the site ("Cates Park)" and got ready.
Our IE was a group of 16 folks, mostly from BC area, with one examiner. We made it thro the OW skills in pretty good time tho, and my only worry was when it came to be my turn and my "students" did not have any problems! I was a bit paranoid, but everything worked out fine and we both scored well. By the time we did our Rescue scenario poor Georgia was shivering and shaking, she was so cold from a leaking dry suit (water temps were mid-high 40's). But, we scored the needed "Pass" and were all but done.
After a quick debrief (well, quick from 16 people) we did our closing ceremonies and were done. Even coming back thro the border was quick and painless and as soon as we were no longer "roaming" on our phones we began making some calls.
Woo-hoo! Now I can finally put away books and texts and maybe have some floor space again!
Thanks for all the support and encouragement from everyone here

FANTASTIC!!!! I am very proud of you both.
Val, I haven't known you since you were a fledgling diver, but Georgia I have. It's been really cool to see the changes she's made over the years and how you both continually learn and master new things.
I admire you both and hold you in very high regard.
