I'm trying to get some more of my Monterey photos sorted and this one has me stumped. Can anyone tell me what this guy is? :dontknow:

my wild guess - Yellowfin rockfish (Sebastes flavidus)

I take photos because I like it, not because I'm good at it. :) by Unknown

I saw a couple of them around some other rockfish so it would make sense.

Could be a yellowtail, but close to shore in that area I'd be more inclined to think it was an olive (Sebastes serranoides). The two are very similar.
