%$#**& DEER

Post by sparky »

Well it seems I will be out of the water a bit longer then I had thought
I was planning to come up in a week or so for a couple days to get cought up on some of the diving I was missing out on

Well thanks to a deer I will not beable to get in the water for a little while
yesterday Saturday the 31st of June after dropping my girl friend at work
I was on my way to the home of one of the Dive Team ( URT ) to work on the new responce van
I was on my motorcycle and a deer ran out infront of me and I laid my bike down
%#$%$%$ thing came out of no where from my right so I moved to my right and then for some dumb reason she went back in the direction she had come from

And in true Sparky fashion I made the Dumber mistake of moveing to my right again
and lost control of my bike and wrecked it
the Deer lived to reek havic on a nother biker some other day and I broke my right anckle
the emergency room doctor told me I was lucky he said most time a brake ocurs that the peices move around
and that mine had not moved

I am in a splint while the swelling goes down and have to go in for my cast in a few days

my Son ( Solomon ) came to the scene of my crash and he and a friend took care of my bike while a nother friend
rushed my to the ER

I am told my bike is not in verry bad shape just broke the wind shield and a turn signal

so it may be a while before I get to dive or ride
but I wil be pestering you guys while I am off work to heal

Take your time healing up. I crashed my bike a few years ago and wasn't able to dive for over a year, but much better to be healthy enough that you're not questioning your body while diving. An ankle, in particular, might need to be substantially healed before you strap a fin to your foot and ask it to kick.

Hey sparky I hope you get better soon and you should mount some machine guns on the front for those occassions of DEER or someone cutting you off. :boxing: It has been some time since we last dove together and it would be great to dive with you again. I have gotten alot better since then and I am working on my navigation.Kinda getting a ehad start on AOW class I guess. 27dives and counting.

P.S. my father has had crashes with about 4 deer in his car over the last 40-50 years. seems they like him alot. Good thing is that only the car got hurt OH and the deer.

Glad to hear the Bike is okay! =D>

I'm sure with a little TLC and a good washing and you'll be back :sign10: in the water
as soon as the cast comes off. :toimonster: Swimming in circles because
the injured ankle will be sore and weak :violent1: for the first few dives.

Take care buddy! :salute:

CRAP! That sucks sparky! I think everyone should have venison for dinner. If only I had some. I remember watching a deer hit a truck once. Yeah, it jumped right into the side of the truck from the fog line. Needless to say, the deer didn't make it, and the truck was wounded.

Get well soon, and next time just stay the course! Then you'll get a broken ankle and Dinner for the entire year!

Sprry about the wipeout bud! Glad to hear you're ok.

Funny - on Lopez Island, when someone hits a deer a local will take it, dress it out, and butcher it. People there don't want anything to go to waste... makes for tasty steaks too!

sounds like you're going to need to trade that bike in for a SCOOTER! And watch out for the sea lions!
Hope you heal quickly.
