Happy to be here!

Post by DiveMonkey »

Just wanted to say 'Hi'... I'm fairly new to the area and looking forward to getting wet and meeting some similarly dive crazy people. I've been out of the water for a year or so and am taking a quick refresher course this weekend. After that, I'm looking forward to checking out what I expect will be a whole new world - diving in the PNW.

Most of my diving to date has been in California or Northern Mexico, so I've never been spoiled by that tropical stuff I keep hearing about. However, I expect I'll be in the market for a drysuit soon and will have plenty of questions for you all. :) Lookin' forward to chattin and/or diving with some of you. I'm quite impressed with what I've seen of the community here!

Welcome to NWDC! I'm sure that you will find MANY potential dive buddies here and will be hitting the water as often as you'd like to.

What part of the Pacific Northwest are you located at?

I'm currently in the Vancouver/Portland area - ok, southern PDX suburbs... But my lease is up soon and I imagine I'll be inching north. I work in downtown portland right now.

I'm looking forward to exploring more of WA too, since it seems that many of the popular dive sites are a bit north of here.

There are a BUNCH of NWDC members in the Portland/Vancouver area, some of whom travel north to Puget Sound and Hood Canal to dive on a regular basis. I'm certain that as the day progresses several of them will chime in here.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I assure you that following my refresher course this Saturday, I'll be ready to get out and get wet... That urge will be instantaneous upon course completion!

--EDIT--
Scratch that. The urge to dive is here NOW! :bounce:
