Awesome Giant Dendro videos you HAVE to watch!!!!

Post by Chenari »

Filmed today at the Monterey Bay Breakwater right near the rocks by Moi of course. A very pretty Giant Dendro swimming away from the eggs it was laying to escape the nasty clutches of the dreaded Sunflower Star. Watch closely and you can see when the eggs detach from the Dendro. Filmed I think around 25-30 feet. I didn't exactly feel like checking my gauge at the moment lol.

And here be the second one taken just a few minutes after the first when we spotted this beauty heading for a trio of Tube Anemones. We sat there for a couple minutes watching it take its own sweet time getting over to the one it decided on. Once it made its choice obvious, I captured this. Watch close as it starts to stick its head in and you'll see what I believe is its radulla (spelling right?).

At first it looked like the Sun star was taking him for a walk on a leash made out of eggs. Very nice footage

OK!~ OK! I watched 'em!!

What a bummer to go to the effort of laying eggs, just to have a nasty ol' Sunflower start come and munch 'em up. :(
If you listen to the soundtrack closely you can hear her saying,
"My babies!! My precious babies!!"

It never ceases to amaze me that a SLUG can move SOOO fast underwater when in hot pursuit of Tube Dwelling anemone tentacles. YUMM! Tentacles = chocolate I guess. And the Breakwater is THE place to see both nudi and anemone.

Nice footage.
