HoodSportnDive's web site: http://www.hoodsportndive.com/ says that viz on July 24th below 40fsw was 30' and above that was 20'.

Has anyone been out there lately?

Okay, now Jenn, You have 7 dives in 5 days consecutivley (sp?) ?
Aren't you about max loaded with nitrogen by now? Or are you just diving alot of Nitrox!

Fixed it!
But it's still alot of diving and thanks for the vis reports!

WOW--you had me fooled for a second (still sucking down the morning caffiene). You actually copied part of those twice. So, it's only like 7 dives in 5 days--I don't work in the summer and I just had to take advantage of the good tides this past weekend. Forget the nitrogen.....my back is starting to KILL me!

Seems like the awesome vis we've been experiencing may be fading. EUP/BHUT last night was maybe 10'.

Anybody know how lake vis has been?

A bud of mine and I dived the Alki Pipeline this afternoon, Wed July 30th. We were planning on doing Cove 2, but there was NO parking available from Salty's all the way down past the boat ramp. The Junkyard was only marginally better, but the Pipeline was wide open, only a couple vehicles, surface conditions very calm, almost like glass.

You want the vis, ok. Average. Murky in the shallows, 5-10ft, better at depth, 15-20.

Probably still 15-20 feet at Cove 2, not bad at all, but diminishing.

Wednesday evening, Holmes Harbor. Whidbey Island. Traces of red tide, five feet vis down to 25 feet, then opens to 20' below that.

Good ambient light down at 100 feet at Cove 2 today, vis was probably 10-20.

Almost a week without any viz report? Is there anybody diving? :)

Planning to go to Edmonds late this afternoon and I was wondering how good/bad the viz is these days.

Did two dives at Redondo last night. Viz below 40 fsw was maybe 6-10 feet. Above that it was 3-6 feet.

THIS LAST SHOT IS A LUMPSUCKER THAT PENELOPE SPOTTED. IT WAS THE SIZE OF A PEA AND MY CAMERA WOULDN'T LOCK ON TO IT. IT IS THE FIRST ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN. THANKS PENELOPE!

Anybody been to Sund Rock lately? Zen Diver and I were thinking of diving there this week. How's the silt condition? Pt. Whitney was fine when we dove it last week but that's a lot further north. Anybody know what it's like at Sund?

We dove Sund Rock on the 4th of July. The silt was definately a problem if you didn't stay off the bottom.

We dove the north wall on our first dive. We were the first divers on the site that day so we had a great dive and managed to get through it without kicking up too much silt.

The second dive we attempted to do the wall. There was a group of divers that had just went through and it was a complete silt out. Because of a gear issue and the poor vis we ended up calling the dive after about 5 minutes.

I've taken a few dozen lumpsucker shots like that these past two months ... aggravating, but the Casio's one weakness is that the auto-focus is a bit ... wide-angle ... it doesn't know how to see things that small.

After a lot of bad shots over maybe 20 dives I finally got a decent one (not great, but OK) ... so keep trying. Sooner or later you'll get lucky.

Good to see that little gruntie's still hanging out on the pipe boat.

Got a friend up from SoCal and I promised her a grunt sculpin today ... we're doing DIW at noon, and Redondo after that ...

3-6 feet above 40 fsw - maybe I should revise my plans to go to Edmonds today... Anyone got better shallow viz than this up North (Edmonds/Mukilteo/Whidbey) recently?
