Advanced Diver Magazine # 23 now in the mail

Post by John Rawlings »

I know that we have a few subscribers out there in NWDC!

ADM issue # 23 is now in the mail. Mine arrived today, so I know that the rest of the bundles for the Pacific Northwest are floating around in our local Post Offices and should be delivered soon to subscribers.

This issue has a huge 15 page spread on Truk Lagoon as well as articles on Papua New Guinea, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Indonesia, the Sunda Strait in the Java Sea, and Lake Michigan.

My lone contribution to this issue is an article on the biology of Ling Cod - I hope that you enjoy it!

Damn-I've been meaning to subscribe, and keep forgetting. If I subscribe now, will I start with this issue?

If you subscribe through the web page you'll probably start with the next one - issue # 24.

If you want to be certain that your subscription starts with this one, # 23, call ADM directly and talk to Linda Bowen. Tell her that you want to start a subscription but want to start it with # 23. She should be able to easily set you up with that.

Yeah, I need to subscribe too... been spending too much money on miscellaneous dive gear so my reading $$ get pushed to the bottom. ](*,)

I loved the two sample issues that I snatched up at John's presentation. Don't let the "Advanced" part of the title scare you off. It certainly is that, and has articles way beyond my diving skills, but it is well written, entertaining, with awesome pics, and always seems to have stuff that fits just about any certification level. :book:

Ling Cod Biology?!?! Gotta get the issue just for that article!

Couldn't agree more. It's an awesome publication, filled with interesting and educational articles, and the photography is simply stunning. Plus, it's about the best looking magazine out there, quality paper, covers and images. Very very slick.

Looking forward to your article John!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I think that ADM is the best dive magazine on the PLANET.....but then, I'm obviously biased!

I have a shot of a purple Ling that I wanted to have with the article, but the publisher didn't choose to use it, (#@%&*$!!!!!). When Calvin adds the capability of easily adding photos to posts I'll post it here.

Here's that shot of the purple Ling Cod that I mentioned, plus another one sitting on a Cloud Sponge that ended up on the "cutting room floor".
