Looking for an Casio Exlim1000

Post by WylerBear »

Well, I made it through my entire cave diving vacation and got all the shots I wanted while diving and sightseeing. The last night as we were walking over to the little diner we ate at every night, I decided to get a photo of the diner. As I took my camera out of it's case, it slipped out of my hands and fell onto the cement driveway and busted the view screen. Big bummer! There is no view finder so it's pretty much toast as far as I'm concerned.
I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded and has one of the Exlim1000's sitting around that they'd like me to take off their hands. My wife has offered to buy me a new camera & housing for birthday/Xmas if I like but if I could buy a used camera that would go into the perfectly good housing that I have, I'd be happier.

I feel your pain. I have one that you can have. Of course it spent an hour plus dive in a flooded housing. You should still be able to use yours, just pretend like it is an old film camera and you can't see the results until you get home.

Good luck finding a replacement! Those cameras seem to be pretty hard to find. They are such great cameras. I talked my parents into getting one for topside photos about the same time I was replacing the one that I had that flooded. I figure at some point I should be able to convince my parents they need a different camera and they will pass theirs down to me.

At least you got all the underwater photos you wanted... which, by the way, I can't wait to see.

You might check online. There are several stores that do lcd replacements.

Here is one on ebay right now
