Greenling @ the i-beams

Nothing fancy, just thought this was kind of cool the way the greenling was "running the chute" in the i-beam:

Nice video. I am thinking it might be a brown rockfish.

Beats me. I wish I could distinguish rockfish species better, they all look basically the same to me.
I think the colored lines coming out from the eyes mean it's a copper, no?

Nice video. Sure makes me homesick. Can I say homesick? I breath air and live in the desert, but it feels like homesick.

That is a nice video segment - thanks for sharing it. I think both Brown and Copper Rockfish have the lines you mentioned.

Looks to me like a Brown Rockfish at the introduction, but it's definitely a male Kelp Greenling that steals the show later. It's like a light cycle in the movie Tron (yes, I am old).

Besides the nice dark spot on the top part of the gill covering, brown rock fish also have that thin white stripe along the lateral line running down the side of the body.

A copper rockfish has a really fat white lateral line that only runs from about mid-body to the tail. Coppers also have those white and yellow bars running from the eyes/jaws. Coppers also tend to have yellow lipstick on their lower lip.

I focused on the first fish, and failed to watch your video long enough to see the greenling. My connection was slow and jerky and painful. Fun video!

Look at that little guy go!

What is the depth at that beam? Looks fairly dark.

That beam meets the rope trail somewhere around 80fsw or so. By the time you get to the end of the i-beam and visit the Buddha you're around 100fsw, depending on the tide.

Yeah, it was a little darker than usual. Viz was less than stellar so that cuts down on the ambient light.
