OK. I guess we know who the real hard-core divers are, now! I was pretty happy to sleep late, make a delicious brunch with friends, and take a nap today....

I had a couple years- November 2005-Novembver 2007- where I took Rescue, Advanced eanx, deco, and CCR training in the snow....actually, I don't think CCR was actually in the snow, but it was bitter cold. I spent a lot of "You must be freaking crazy" time going diving during those years. 2008, I kind of lost the crazy-weather diving bug. I need to start doing the "you gotta be kidding" dives again.....

Can't even get out of my driveway - but I wish everybody at NWDC the very best this season and great dives in the coming year. I am proud to be in this great company, thank you all for comments and moral support

it is 6:30am just looked outside to see a few fresh inches of snow on beacon hill and it is still snowing.

We've got 5-6 foot high drifts all over the place and it appears we got between 6-8" of new snow overnight... and it hasn't stopped.

It's been snowing all morning and as I was shoveling the front walkway, I started doing the math on how many cubic feet of snow I'd have to shovel so our guests could come in the front... a constant 3-4 foot high drift along the street in front of the house, 1-2 feet of snow on the sidewalk and path to the front door, path is 3' wide, sidewalk is 5' wide, and I'd need space not only for the cars to park, but for them to get in/out of where they would need to park.

I decided our guests will be parking in our garage and coming in that back door instead. I also decided that I will be picking up my mother-in-law and bringing her here as she is one of those terrified non-snow drivers who can single-handedly turn a freeway into a parking lot.

What a wonderful sight!! I love the snow. I also learned that my SAD-stricken wife loves the snow too so this kind of weather has her feeling great!

PS: If you're looking for the world's best, and safest, sled hill for your kids, come to the elementary school on Snoqualmie Ridge. We've got a huge hill that ends at the soccer field so there's lots of room to slow down, and there's no trees, rocks, or anything to get in the way.

Although temps are warming up, the snow is still coming down like crazy here in SW Washington, but it appears that finally the freeways are cleared. We've been lagging behind the Seattle area a day or two as far as clear roads.

Oh yeah, we got snow all right! Snow, wind, ice, the works - for like the past week! And I still think it's way cool! (Only because I had these two weeks free, as did Claude and we didn't HAVE to be anywhere in particular).
