Post by luv2scuba »

Hi all. I was referred to the club and wanted to introduce myself. I have been diving since the early nineties with a hiatus to have a couple of children. This year has been an introduction to colder water and my first dives in the Pacific Northwest. I originally certified in Africa and most of my dives were in the waters of Southern Africa and off Africa in general.
I hope to meet you diving soon. Have a great day.
Happy diving,

Dana

Welcome, Dana!

I've always wanted to dive off South Africa and Mozambique! The airfare costs always seemed to halt me in my tracks.

What a place to be certified! I hope that you will share some of your dive adventures there with us....

Good to have you here with us!

Diving in Southern Africa is definitely different to here. Warmer for one, well at least the Indian Ocean is. A lot of currents & surge. Most is boat diving although there are some shore dives.
The diving is pretty awesome.

Hi John

The airfares are a LOT but I can keep you informed about specials I hear of every now and then. (Just for airfare, not dive specific packages).

Mozambique is a fun place to dive and has become rather popular especially with South Africans themselves. Some good diving off South Africa too and then there is always the colder water experience of the Atlantic off the Cape region. (Quite a bit of chance of Great White sitings without going in a cage specific great white dive).
Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar are all great places too although some have become too commercial.

Thanks for the welcome.

White shark sightings without a cage? Sounds great :pale: (wtf?!)!! I'd hoover at least 1500psi and can't say I'd stick around for a picture. That's a big fish. I'd love to jump in a cage though! That's on my "list of things to do before I die."

Hi Dana, welcome to NWDC! I've always wanted to get to the Seychelles. Now I've got someone's brain to pick when I actually do get the opportunity to put a trip together.

You're welcome to dive with us, anytime!

Seychelles was beautiful and some really deserted places or almost seems that way.

I hope to dive with you soon! Thanks for the welcome :salute:
