Need a nextel phone

So I got home from work today and tossed some clothes in the wash. I kept hearing this strange thumping noise, so on further investigation. It turned out to be my phone! Needless to say its junk now.

Sooooooo...

Anyone happen to have a NEXTEL phone they dont use anymore? Just your standard flip phone, camera optional! I am willing to pay up to 100 bucks. Depending on model and condition..

As long as you dont turn it on wet, and let it dry, you may only have to replace the battery. I would bring it in to Nextel store after it drys and check to see if a new battery works.

Take the battery out and leave the phone buried in some (obviously) un cooked rice for a day or two.

Took out the battery when I retrieved out of the wash. I had to get my SIM out anyway. Got er in a bowl of rice as we speak, I was chukling when I was dumping rice over my phone. I hope it works..

Me too! The rice should suck out all of the moisture.

You can go to Home Depot or Lowe's or something to get the silica-whatever stuff that lowers moisture. That's the best stuff to use - put it in a Nalgene bottle with a bunch of that stuff and seal it - it'll pull all the moisture from it MUCH faster than rice will. I keep a jug of it at the house ready to go JUST for situations like these.

will an i730 work for you?

it has the extended battery pack in it, but the battery is old, so i think it only lasts around 24h...

i'd either wind up paying to recycle it, or else throw it into the trash and feel guilty about destroying the environment, or just keep it around with the rest of the clutter...
