Maui Ulua Beach - 05/15

Post by bnboly »

Thought it was about time I posted a few pics from some of my dives in Maui. I've been diving with Maui Dive Shop and B&B Diving - both are great operators. Weather has been great - 85 and sunny! So let's get to it, here's a few pics:

Night dive is tomorrow night, waiting for enough folks to sign up for the Manta dive - most ops want 15-20 people - tourism is really down here. Lots of shops are closing - right now there are only about 5 or so ops doing daily dive trips - most have cut it down to every other day or every third day. BTW forgot to post this pic:

Bill, I hate you.

Ok, not really, but I'd deliberately resisted reading this thread knowing I'd be envious. And I was right. I should have listened to myself ](*,)

Simply awesome photos. I've never seen a dolphin underwater while diving, let alone been able to shoot such a great pic. Well done! Glad you're having fun.

I'm going to go rinse my dry suit now..... sigh..... :crybaby:

All these pics came from Ulua beach - it was about 30 min into the dive when Michelle, my guide, started flaying around in the water - I wondered what she was doing until I was buzzed by ONE of the dolphins. We spent the next 20 min playing with a pair of what we think were juvenile dolphins - they came within 5' of us. In the distance at about 40' was another larger dolphin (we think the father) and then about twice as far away was another (we think the mother). The further two kept circling watching what was going on. It was amazing to hear the interplay between them. All four left after about three very loud clicks and the dive was over.
