Interesting...I dived at Possession Beach Waterfront Park on Sunday, which is not far from Langley, at the beginning and in the middle of an ebb and the visibility at depth, beyond the 20s ft range , was 15-20 ft!

I never know what I may encounter in that sloping sandy bottom, a part from the faithful Orange Sea pens and Striped Nudibranchs! This time we saw several large Pink Tritonia, two bay pipefishes, a cute small red stubby squid and the smalllest Red Octopus I have ever encountered! It must have been 1 inch long! The little guy promptly retreated inside a clam shell. I did not blame him!

Cove2 - Wed Nov 17 8am - At 30 feet I could clearly see the surface. Probably 30-40 vis all the way down to the I-Beams.

WoW! I sure picked a lousy time to have Surgery. By the time I get back to cold water diving(Mid January) the vis will be even less! All the more reason to go up to Sitka! :supz:

After lower back problem for couple weeks and trip to rainy California a managed to squeeze in
last dive of 2010 at Langley Tire Reef. Visibility about 20 feet, but kind of cloudy looking water.
29 degrees air, 45 degrees water. Unlike during past dives here, when I could find up to ten
Lingcod egg masses, today I did not find a single one. Four small males were poised as if waiting for
the females to come and lay eggs, none of the usual locations had them :(

Checked out Day Island Wall today for the first time. Visibility was about 15'. Didn't find much there to justify the long drive.

Oh, whatevah, next time the tides are favorable, let's go do that again . . . I honestly can't imagine someone diving DIW and not coming away feeling it was worth the trip!

We did two dives today, China Wall and the Boeing Rock Reef. Viz at China Wall was pretty good -- at least 20 feet, and probably in some spots better. Boeing was better than that -- probably 30 feet, and ambient light to 60. Neither site was breathtaking, but there was a lot of small life in both, and the Boeing reef had Cabbies in breeding plumage who were pretty spectacular.

Keystone today was 10-15' depending whether you were at the pilings or the jetty and it's always a fun ride from one to the other... Hardly anyone there though... Still a great way to start the new year... :angelblue:

Edmonds Underwater Park was about 20ft today. Almost got trampled by a group of Polar Bear Plunge people when I came out...
