Alki Pipeline was a great place to see sea pens. Since the bottom is shallow, flat, and light-colored sand there is a lot of ambient light and natural color.

About that dive:
My first sea pens.
My first penpoint gunnel. A big one. And we had a lot of face-time. It was great.
My first dive in good trim. Recent gear adjustments were a success. I was ecstatic.
My first excellent ascent.
We surfaced to a gorgeous sunset across the water.

Even a dive that goes all wrong can be an enjoyable experience. :mmmbeer:
