I remind myself of stuff like that when I am debating picking up gear on the cheap from the internets or where-ever.... The owner knew I was looking and when they came in from a guy trading up to 130s he called me.

I have heard that these make good "tec-reational" units. Is that true? I can slap together a batter pack for one of these.

Were these the ones that used to explode due to hydrogen gas build-up from the lead-acid batteries? If I had time to tinker and wanted to sign up for a battery project I would buy one.

These look like the old Tekna DV-3X scooters. They're decent enough and with some TLC will keep up ok with the Apollo AV1's. Though if they're like the Tekna you'll sound like you're driving a MAC truck underwater and everyone will hear you coming! Tempting as a little project....

Thus the 1250, I'm sure. That's a damn fine price. Buy that, and then ping Cofford for the price of a Lithium phostphate battery pack, and build a scooter that runs for ever.
