News Flash!! PLS found at Port Townsend!

Post by Dusty2 »

In all the time I have been diving Hudson point I have never seen a Spiny Lumpsucker till last Sunday

This little dude was the size of a bumble bee and just about as hard to get a shot of.

This guy was ping pong ball size.

There seems to be a Puget Sound invasion of the little buggers over the past few weeks. I finally got tired of doing the eel grass dive at Redondo (after only 23 dives) and decided to head back down to my usual haunts around the bottle field for something a little different. So Wednesday night I found three of 'em at the bottle field, and last night found one just below the ladder boat. The ones deeper are quite a bit larger than the ones we've been seeing in the eel grass.

Other folks I know have been finding them in all the usual places ... Sunrise, DIW shallows, TTN, etc.

I think this must just be the time of year they come shallow or something ...

Great find Dusty! I will start looking for them on Whidbey when I return to the island :)

Nice Pics. I just saw one at Three tree last night. Pretty good sized one too.

I saw two in the eel grass at the Lobster shop wall, and one at Old Town Dock last week. Seems to be a good year for the little guys.
