she looks a lot like a basenji in this picture, but she's not a typical color so it's likely she's a mix. we had a basenji when i was younger - cool dog (if not a bit strange). :-) does meka bark?

I do believe they are. I got monkey and his sister from an ex-girlfriends friend who had no idea what breed they were. So close as I've been able to determine (and vets) is that they are bermese.

Monkey is a talker at night, while Hannah (bug) doesn't meow much at all. Quite silly they are. ;)

Scarlett is an English Bull Terrier, not a pit bull, but they are close cousins. Like the Target dog, Spuds Mackenzie and General Patton's dog Willie. Pit bulls get a bad rap, any dog can be trained to be vicious. Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to meet my sister's friend's pit bull, a very sweet and loving dog that's good with their young kids. They are looking for a good home for it. Beautiful gray female, size extra large.

Somebody besides me has to have a pet other than a cat or a dog.

This first beauty is a hand-fed Blue and Gold Macaw. She will be turning 1 on December 3.

Image

This beast, is my bi-polar, OCD, Umbrella Cockatoo. He is about 8-12 years old and is a rehomer. He came from a decent home, but, boy does he have his issues. One of his issues is his utter hate that he displays towards Huskychemist.

These are our boys (other than our two sons), Mace and Ruckus. Mace is a 5.5 year old German Shephard (obviously), and Ruckus is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd. I am still looking for photo's of our Congo African Grey (parrot).

GD - Do you have a permit to keep that protected marine mammal as a pet. Actually you have the best deal, you don't have to pay for food, you don't have to clean up after it, you don't have to rush home from work to take it out, sounds like a great deal. Does Junior know that he is your pet?

Runamonk -

They take a bit of time. Hardest part is finding someone to care for them when I am gone for more than a day or two. The Blue and Gold is easy. The Umbrella is way more work. He needs serious therapy. If anyone knows of a great bird shrink, let me know. Seriously though, he goes between wanting to take an ounce, or more, of my flesh, and then he wants to snuggle on the couch and watch TV. I have several scars from the "Bad Mike" and lots of really fond memories of the "Good Mike".

They can be quite the conversation piece. I just have to keep from putting Umbrella Cockatoo on my next BBQ menu.

Junior thinks he is my son ... but isn't that the way it works with most people's pets?

As for the "protected marine mammal" bit ... it's usually me that needs protecting from him ...
