from DivesterWith a face only a mother could love, we bring you a nice picture of a blobfish (sometimes called a fathead, and member of the Psychrolutidae family). Living at a pressure that would make it a little tough on swim-bladders, it's evolved a jello-type body and looks like the "Sorting Hat" from the Harry Potter movies but more like a male Elephant Seal.
It is rarely seen by humans as it lives at a depth of 3000 feet or more. It was pulled up in trawling net as part of a research project in Australia and New Zealand.
It doesn't even look real to me but truly is an amazing find.

Chin high, puffed chest, we step right to it

Actually, that's one of the nicer things I've said about her mother. I don't hide my feelings. Lately her thing has been to call 3-6 times each day for one reason or another. Yesterday was a 6 call day... just to make sure we were safe in the snow. Oh, the stories I could tell you about this woman!

Yeah, my wife really lucked out - my parents rock. Her dad and step-mother are awesome too... but I'll always have a special place in my heart for her mother.
