Greetings...

Post by Shawn »

Hello to all of you. I recognize alot of members on this board and hope to meet some new ones as well.

Still muddling around between 500 and 600 dives and not in the water as much as I used to be. It seems that diving has taken a backseat to my steelheading disease...

Favorite dives around the state have been mostly on the coast and in the Hood Canal with the likes of the Old Fart (I mean Rawlings...) and other excellent divers from the older days of D2D. The home dive is still Sunrise and now more frequently the sterling waters of Commencememt Bay... :vom:

Seems like a good attitude on the board and I am looking forward to contributing to the group.

Shawn! It's about time. Glad to have you on the board.

When are we gonna go do Toliva Shoal?

Thanks guys! Its been a long time Brian. Hope all is well with you and yours? Hey John... I just finished reading the new ADM the other day... I found the article very interesting and informative. I did not like the pictures of seeing you in the chamber though. :pale: Something you never want to see at all. I need to talk with you about a presentation for the WSH kids this year.

I understand what you mean about that photo. It was taken by my wife, Ginny. Right after she took the photo (at my request) she dashed out of the room in tears......seems that I looked kind of....well....DEAD AND ON DISPLAY in that one-man chamber. She didn't like THAT at all!

I'd be happy to come down again and speak to your students - all we need to do is coordinate a good date!

Welcome to the group Shawn. You may not remember me, but we've been out diving together before. It was you and me and John Rawlings on Brian Fix's boat. We went out of Tacoma, did KVI Towers and one other dive I think. Maybe one of these days we can hook up and do it again.

Hey! I think that I remember that! Were you the poor guy in the wet suit? I remember it being a REAL cold day and your lips were turning blue! I think that the second dive was at the Maury Island barges.....but then, my memory has been slipping.

Thanks for the welcome... Looking forward to diving with the members here.

John I'll call you over the break! Val and Bob I would really like to see you guys again so hopefully a dive is in our immediate future.

I remember you Nick... It was a nasty day and you and I did that second dive on the Maury Barges that reminded me of seeing the Titanic for some reason. You get a drysuit yet?

This appears to be a very savvy and intelligent board. Hopefully I can help contribute to the overall vibe on the board and help make it more helpful and successful.

If anyone wants to dive in the Tacoma/Gig Harbor area after 3:00 PM send me a PM and we can set something up. Be forewarned I'm as slow above water as I am below... I like to go "macro."
