Worst diving movies you've seen

Hey I'm in need of help from my fellow Divers. I want to do three reviews of three awful diving movies. I have Open Water and The Cave, of course, but I'm having trouble finding a third movie that actually involves SCUBA diving as a main part of the plot. All of the more recent movies I find are all about swimming, free diving, or submarines. Anybody know any bad movies? Like the kind of movie that makes you want to just take the disc out and burn it because it's so awful? I would prefer recent films. The farthest back I'm willing to go is 1990.

This might apply, but could be questionable as it's only a sequel.....

No, I considered it, but OW2 doesn't actually have ANY diving. It's basically a bunch of morons who go out on a yacht, jump into the water, and realize they forgot to put the ladder down. So they're floating next to the boat with a baby alone on board and no way to get back in. No, that will be saved for another time.

That stupid Fools Gold movie has some dumb scuba in it.

Thunderball was formative in my early interest in diving and is a typical silly Bond flick.

Actually, we both like Into the Blue, and Fool's Gold is going to be her example of a good diving movie. Personally, I love it.

I'll probably get flamed here, but the worst diving related movie I've seen has got to be 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'.

Yeah, I know it's a Cousteau spoof, but damn, it sucked.

it took me several watchings to be in the 'right mood' for it.

after I grok'd it, it became one of my favorites... *grin*

(I mean when it's competing with The Cave and Into the Blue, the bar is kinda high for worst diving movies...)

yeah, there are a few moments in that film that are funny, and make good quotes/references, but overall i just wasn't into the movie. most of anderson's films have too much precious "i'm so smart and quirky but unloved" crap in them for my tastes.

Yeah like Dwashbur said, we actually like Into the Blue and Fool's Gold. Thanks for the list, Sockmonkey. I'll take a look. Any more ideas? Remember, I want something involving actual SCUBA diving. Like what we do. No Submarines or just swimming. I want full on gear, fins, tank, regs, all of it.

I already got my hand slapped once for posting a pic from The Deep (1977) because I offended someones sensibilties. It's older than you want to go but you do get to watch Ms. Bisset dive.........
I hope this is "G" rated enough.......

I made it through about....half. When the piranhas reached the size of Volkswagens and started leaping from the water and exploding when they hit buildings I fell asleep, but my friend tells me there was additional diving. And they did do a demonstration quality helicopter giant stride entry into blackwater, if my memory is correct...
